8 DAY/7 NIGHT SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Depart Johannesburg International Airport on Air Tanzania flight to Zanzibar via Dar es Salaam. On arrival you will be met by our representative and transferred to the beach resort of your choice. Spend 7 nights here (meal basis as described in price grid).
Early morning you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport and assisted with check-in formalities. Depart Zanzibar on Air Tanzania flight to Johannesburg via Dar es Salaam.
This itinerary can be extended to include extra nights at the beach resort. Prices include – |

HOTEL DESCRIPTIONS
Shooting Star is on the north east coast of the island, approximately 45 minutes drive from the airport and Stonetown. It is a tranquil oasis, a delightful refuge from the world where you will escape the incessant chatter of the city. There are just 10 spacious Sea View Cottages with private verandahs offering breathtaking views of Kiwengwa Beach, the coral reef and the ocean. All have ceiling fans and air conditioning. 4 of these are family cottages laid out on 2 floors with a large double bedroom on the ground floor and a staircase leading up to a large twin room in the roof space. For more budget travellers there are 4 Garden lodge rooms. These provide simple, clean accommodation without air conditioning. The cottages are set apart from the other rooms, bar and restaurant to enable residents to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility. Environmentally friendly

On this magical little private island there are only 5 bandas with a total of 10 rooms, each with its own terrace on the beach. The rooms are spacious, with a large bathroom and separate toilet. They are decorated with colourful African prints and

is a privately owned, independent hotel located on the northern tip of Zanzibar on one of the island’s finest beaches, with easy access to Zanzibar’s best dive sites and fishing grounds. It is a 75-90 minute scenic drive from Stonetown/airport/seaport. The frontage of the hotel is protected by an expansive coral reef that encircles the whole island. Matemwe Bungalows is situated on the northeast coast of the island, approximately one hour’s drive from the airport or Stonetown. |
The 12 en suite bungalows are positioned to catch the ocean breeze and offer relaxation with a personal touch, complete with private verandas and hammocks to enjoy the ocean view. Each large bungalow is intimately arranged and features a king-sized bed. The lounge and swimming pool areas offer further opportunities for peace and reflection, whilst the restaurant features the flavours of fresh seafood, combined with island spice. Solar power takes care of the lighting and hot water. There are plenty of chances for ocean adventures – snorkelling the local reefs or scuba diving the colourful Mnemba Atoll can easily be arranged, as can a ride in our own traditional wooden sailing dhow - or a reef walk. There is a fully equipped PADI dive centre on the beach, where kayaks can also be hired. |
